imagesThe Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is regarded as one of the most versatile, and certainly among the most popular smartphone models in the market. It remains virtually unrivalled in the ‘phablet’ niche, having the benefits of both phone and tablet devices. The device stands out on account of its large screen and stylus pen functionality.

The Galaxy Note 2, as everyone knows is the successor of the first version, released back in 2011. At the time of the launch, it was certainly a cutting edge handset boasting a 5.3 inch display, 1.4GHz quad-core processor, 8 megapixel camera and advanced S-Pen affording great levels of versatility to the handset.

Prior to the phone’s launch, a lot of people assumed that the large-screened phone would not sell well as it was very different to any phone launched at the time. However, the Galaxy Note has already sold more than 12 million units and Galaxy Note 2 quickly followed this kind of commercial success last year. Visit PhonesLimited for Samsung Galaxy Note price comparison and Samsung Galaxy Note 2 special offers.

The Galaxy Note originally came with the Android Gingerbread operating system, which during that period was the latest OS version of the Google owned platform. Since then, the operating system has had a number of facelifts with the latest being Android Jellybean. According to Tech Radar, users of this phablet device can already update their OS to Android Jellybean, which is very news as it brings them more new features and positive changes especially when it comes to the performance of the user interface. The update will also install features like multi-window function, customized notifications bar and the Google Now app.

For those who own a Samsung Galaxy Note SIM-free, you can receive the update for the OS soon, but those who have the device on a pay every month contract deal, unfortunately will need to wait for the network’s approval of the update first and that may take a little bit longer.

Have you already make the update to Android Jellybean on your Galaxy Note? What do you think of the new features? Share your thoughts by leaving a comment.
